Since there really isn't a section in the forum for topics and stuff
regarding music I guess I'll just have a little topic to talk about bands and
genres and whatever you want pertaining to music.

So I guess I'll start, I just want to know what people think of the new
Chiodos. Personally I dont really care for them, but I think they did a
pretty good job with their new singer. Even though Chiodos isn't the same
with out Craig Owens...

who is the new singer now??
i think modern wolf hair is genius, those who slay together stay toghether is pretty good too.
they're a band i was into when all's well that end well came out but i kinfa stopped listening after that but i'm pretty excited to hear what the new album will be like.

Yea, I mean they are not bad,
just not the same. Craig Owens has
a voice that can't come close
to being similar to another, atleast thats
how I feel.
But their new singer is Brandon Bulmer
so I'm curious as what happens to
Chiodos and all of Craig Owens' other
music.

I really like Craig Owens, but I'm also really liking the new songs and Brandon Bolmer
however I don't understand when people say that "Craig Owens was Chiodos" and "They should change their name"
In m opinion a singer isn't the band, sure Craig Owens had a really distinguishable voice which made it easy to tell that Chiodos was Chiodos
but Bradley and Jason have a really unique songwriting style which is truly what makes Chiodos, Chiodos
not to mention Brandon is doing a terrific job

i think it would be interesting if we start creating topics about album reviews/previews (:

about what stepsinadance said, i think it's partly true, because, the old Emarosa, for example .. i like A LOT their album "This Is Your Way Out", that features the song "I Am Waves" (one of my favorite songs of all time). but with time and the entrance/exit of some members (especially vocalist), the band changed A LOT, i can say that the genre also changed, Emarosa used to be a lot more agressive. so, i get the feeling that they just used the name of the band to promote themselves.

I feel like music fans nowadays care about vocalists way too much
they undermine the efforts of the rest of the band when they are just as important and more often than not they are more important
that being said though I don't know who is writing the lyrics to the new songs (I'm assuming it's Brandon) but they are laughably bad

Well idk if you listen to Alls Well That Ends Well,
its just sounds different then their new stuff.
I have nothing against the new singer, but Craig Owens
honestly puts his own style into songs and bands and
since he was with Chiodos for so long it just doesn't feel like
the same band.
But with other bands like Emarosa, Cinematic Sunrise, Isles and Glaciers
he hasn't like done enough with them to really put them out.

It's all a progression
Chiodos would never write All's Well That Ends Well part 2 even if Craig was in the band
although I do wish that Craig would have stuck with Cinematic Sunrise
I always liked him more in there than I did in Chiodos

agreed to the part that craig puts his own style into songs/bands.
i guess that happens because he is really respected nowadays, especially because of his laytime in chiodos (which is a great/famous band).

Yea I really didn't like his solo cd :/
But Cinematic Sunrise was pretty much
amazing.
And the new stuff by Isles and Glaciers is
pretty awesome too. But, I guess we're all
gonna have to get used to the "new" Chiodos.

This does happen with other bands too,
like the TBS got a new drummer people didn't like
that at all, and honestly I don't think their cd came out
to well either way.

Chiodos is doing a great job with their new Vocalist.
Their new stuff is amazing. I can't wait for Illuminaudio & of course for some Craig Owens in D.R.U.G.S.
